His introduction ‘My daughter the pop singer’
Her retort ‘My father, the daddy.’
‘I want you to know I’m very proud of you.’
‘Thanks, pop.’
‘You got two gold records right?’
‘You know they’re not easy to come by folks, you got to sell a million records. How long you been in the business,honey?’
‘This is my third day!’
‘She’s funnier than I am too! One more joke young lady and you’ll go up to bed without your thunderbird.’
‘Actually, you know, I’ve been in the business quite a long time – six months.’
‘Has it been that long? For goodness sakes, why you practically grew up in the business. Six months and you got two gold records. Let me tell you something young lady, it took me twenty years to get my first gold record.’
