Audio Books To Learn Spanish
Many years ago, in the mid-60’s, I attended St Eunan’s College Secondary College, in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, Ireland. It was the Beatles and Rolling Stones era and Bob Dylan was also on the folk trail. As part of our education, we were obliged to learn two foreign languages. This may sound fine, but the choice was Latin and Ancient Greek: alpha, beta, gamma, delta…….omega. Boys, oh boys, what benefit was this ever going to be to us country kids?
Why did they not teach us something useful, like, Spanish, or French, or German, or Italian, or Dutch maybe?
Anyway, in recent times I have holidayed in Spain and the first time I went I was quite unprepared – Buenos Dias for Good Morning, Buenas Tardes for Good Afternoon and Gracias for Thank You were just about my limit. Not much of a clue about Spanish.
Things have changed rapidly thanks to new technologies, and anyone thinking about going to Spain on vacation should consider listening to audio books to learn Spanish. They are downloadable and can be played on iPods, or MP3 players and also benefit from the fact that they are narrated by Spanish nationals. The result is that you will enjoy your visit much more and the Spaniards will appreciate the attempts you do make to converse with them.
On the other side of the coin, there are also a range of audio books to learn English for Spanish speakers, all of a very high quality.
Adios and Tengo que ir ahora.
